The Lincolns of Springfield chronicles the incredible story of America’s greatest  President and his much loved wife, from their first meeting through the end of the Civil War.

As a very young girl, little Mary Todd declared to anyone who would listen, that when she grew up she would marry a President and live in the White House! The audience is led down the highly improbable, yet entirely truthful, humorous and delightfully romantic path that leads to the courtship and marriage of the most unlikely of couples, the young Abe Lincoln and Mary Todd—America’s first power couple—and the fulfillment of Mary’s prediction.

I give this musical five stars! The power of the music truly illuminates this remarkable love story. Captivating and Uplifting

ABOUT

Be ready for songs that will fill your heart, stir your soul, and stay with you. I had chills several times. Treat yourself to The Lincolns of Springfield!
— Illinois Times

From the moment the curtain rises, audiences are drawn into two very different worlds…Mary’s tumultuous world of the antebellum South—with gentility and honor juxtaposed against the backdrop of the scourge of slavery—and Abe’s vibrant, fearless world of possibilities that is America’s new frontier.

The iconic young Abraham Lincoln is tall, lanky, hard-working, a self-taught scholar and a backwoods genius. He yearns for the opportunity to make his mark on the world. Mary Todd assisted her father’s household slaves with the Underground Railroad. She is a true abolitionist from a very early age.

The relationship between Mary Lincoln and her closest friend and confidante, former slave and dressmaker, Elizabeth Keckley, is pivotal to the story. As Mary’s dearest friend, Mrs. Keckley is privy to Mary’s most intimate and private history and is thus the ideal story teller for the show.

This is a tale of triumph…a tale of tragedy…a tale of hope. Inspired and inspiring…Timely and timeless—The Lincolns of Springfield.

The audience was with it all the way, not least because the performances were just terrific. Still good performers need good material and I very much enjoyed the range of your songwriting skill, from romantic to comic to flat-out inspirational.

The Lincolns of Springfield is precisely the musical we need right now to remind us, in the words of America’s greatest President, that our country remains “the last best hope of earth”; that “a house divided against itself cannot stand.” and how we must work together to “bind up the nation’s wounds” so that government “of the people, by the people and for the people shall not perish from the earth.”
— Terry L Cranert, The Lincolns of Springfield
Whatever preconceptions you may have had about the lives of Abraham and Mary Lincoln- this musical adds a profound, emotional depth.
